PESHAWAR: A government high school was blown up in the suburban Masho Khel village near the border of Khyber Agency on Thursday evening. Locals told The Express Tribune that militants blew up the boundary wall on one side of the school, destroying three rooms in the explosion. “The school has been blown up, but the watchman survived as he was in the staff room at the time of the explosion,” said Faiz Muhammad, ex-niab nazim of the area’s union council. Locals were not able to inform the police due to the suspension of cell phone services. “The watchman came to me and told me about the blast. We inspected the school building, which has been damaged considerably,” he added. Militants have destroyed all girls’ schools in the locality and are now targeting boys’ schools.
