Symmetry Group: Digital media company wins regional award
Says its title will help take advertising to the global scene.
KARACHI:
“Winning the ‘South Asia Digital Media of the Year Award’ will lead Pakistan to the international advertising scene in the future,” CEO and co-founder of the Symmetry Group, Sarosh Ahmed told a gathering of select journalists in press event on Wednesday.
Sharing details of the group’s performance in the Campaign South Asia Awards 2012 – which were held in Singpore in December – Ahmed said they had competed with some of the region’s biggest names to grab the title.
“We are hopeful that with these awards, you will see the beginning of a new era of enhanced products and services,” Ahmed said.
Operating in Pakistan since 2003, the Symmetry Group – a digital media agency – has also won the ‘Pakistan Digital Agency of the Year 2012’ title in its first-ever participation in the event, according to company officials.
A fully owned subsidiary of Symmetry FZC – a UAE-based investment company – the Symmetry Group’s three agencies; namely Symmetry Digital, Creative Jin and Iris Digital; have respectively won the gold, silver and bronze awards in the aforesaid competition.
However, it was Symmetry Digital that won the regional award after competing with globally-backed groups such as Isobar, OMD, Tribal DDB and McCann, according to Creative Jin’s Assistant Manager Farzana Abdullah.
The agency deals with new form of advertising, such as mobile apps, social media, online advertising and interactive billboards, Abdullah said; explaining how they are different from conventional media-buying houses. Cocacola, Pepsico, Engro Corp, Procter and Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, the Karachi Electric Supply Company, Telenor Pakistan, China Mobile, Warid Telecom and Shell are some of the company’s clients.
