Despite Honey Singh’s recent controversy regarding the obscene lyrics from some of his songs, the Punjabi rapper managed to attract a large number of fans.
In the recent days,a first information report (FIR) was filed against Singh for his alleged use of vulgar lyrics of the song “Main Hun Balatkaria” (I am a rapist). The complaints came about during the news of the Delhi gang-rape murder, and created an outrage. While the rapper believes he was dragged unnecessarily into an online controversy, this led to a cancellation of his concert in Bristol Hotel, Gurgaon on New Year’s Eve.
On a social media site, Singh expressed his feelings by writing: “They just needed an excuse and they’ve found one. CONGRATULATIONS!” Adding to this, he said the government is responsible. “Before you blame me, blame the government for not taking action against the rapists in the first place!” Singh tweeted.
