Shootout: Muhafiz Squad cop shot dead

MULTAN: A policeman was killed on Monday in a shootout with suspected robbers. Muhafiz Squad officials said that three policemen saw three men on a motorcycle leaving the Writer’s Colony near Noon Chowk. After seeing the police, they said, the men tried to flee. When the policemen signalled them to stop, they shot at them, injuring one of them, identified as Zahid. Police tried to stop them, but they fled. Before the injured cop could be taken to a hospital, he died.
