Two paramilitary personnel were buried when an avalanche hit them in Bin Shahi area near the Pak-Afghan border in Lower Dir.


A security official said that two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel along with a civilian were clearing snow from a road near Bin Shahi security check post when the avalanche hit them on Friday morning.

The official added that security forces and civilians rushed to the site to rescue the men. While they were able to rescue the civilian, both the FC personnel lay buried under the snow till the filing of the report.

The official identified the buried men as Naik Naseem and Tayyab, adding that rescue work was still underway.
