In November, 17 people died after consuming this syrup in Lahore, after which pharmacy stores holding stock of this medicine were sealed and some people were arrested.
DCO Anjum Ahmed, speaking to the media at Civil Hospital, said that till now, 13 people had been killed.
Out of eight people admitted to the hospital, three were said to be in a critical condition, while nine others had been shifted to Lahore.
In Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab’s special assistant Khawaja Salman Rafeeq told the media that 13 people had been brought to a hospital there, out of which one died and seven were discharged after being given a clean bill of health.
Earlier, some reports had given Tyno a clean chit, attributing the deaths in Lahore to overdose, while other officials claimed the syrup was being manufactured under fake labels.

Punjab is the best governed province in the country. If you don't believe me ask Sharif Brothers. While some people abuse medicines for a high but this is happening too frequently and too many people are losing their lives. Yet some have the same old excuses and not taking any responsiblity. The fact is alcohol and caugh medicines would not kill that many people all of a sudden. Can anyone explain the sudden rise in deaths due to the medicines? On the second thought it must be all Zardari and PPP's fault to transfer powers to provinces!
@Ch. Allah Daad, you are doing your job pretty well mate. If blaming your boss is intellectual dishonesty then what is IGNORING LOSS OF VALUABLE HUMAN LIVES?
This is definitely a CIA/ RAW/ MOSSAD/ MI6 conspiracy against the people of the land of pure!!
This medicine is okay, you people just threatening the company to get money from them, i'm pharmacist and i personally check this batch of medicine name tyno , there is nothing it. People mixed it up with alchohol to get more alchohol. you should also report who drank this medicine and in which condition, reporting should be perfect, don't waste bullets in air.
Shehbaz Sharif has nothing to do with this incident. These people use cough syrup to get high and die due to over doze. Its a very complex issue and no one knows the right solution. Blaming PML(N) and Shehbaz Sharif is intellectual dishonesty.
Shahbaz Sharif! Pin this on the new governor, or the president, or dance around the corruption in PIA, or the NRO, or dual nationality issue. Your notion of good governance is only to use propaganda, and divert attention from actual topic, and then leave it to the "senior journalists" on your payroll. Again, scores of lives are lost, but sadly no justice will be done to the victims, and no pressure will be exerted by the media or the judiciary to do something about it.
Deaths might be averted if appropriate measures have been taken after Lahore incident. CM Punjab along with Punjab health department held responsible!!
Now PMLn Good governance will blame that People who has taken syrup are Nashayee OR syrup is made in Karachi.
