Bomb blasts: Explosion injures four children

Four children were injured in a bomb explosion in Charsadda district on Thursday.

Umerzai Police SHO Rokhan Zaib said that an explosion occurred near the shrine of Haji Muhammad Amin. Zaib said that the bomb had been planted in a pile of garbage.

He added that after the explosion, the children were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital.

In another incident in the Gulabad area of Battagram, a bomb planted by unidentified militants exploded near the gas pipeline.

Ijaz Khan, an official of Battagram police, said that two kilogrammes of explosives had been used in the bomb that destroyed the pipeline.

“Soon after the blast the emergency valve at the main distribution point was closed,” he said, adding that the gas supply had been shut off. Police launched a search operation in the area but no arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
