The Lahore High Court on Wednesday freed 52 brick kiln workers from illegal detention in the Raiwind area. A relative of the detainees had filed a petition alleging that the kiln owner Haji Naseer had detained 52 members of his clan and that they were being tortured. The court had deputed a bailiff for the recovery of the 10 women, 22 men and 20 children. The court freed the workers and directed the police to have them examined by doctors for further proceedings against the kiln owner.
