The party, through its Punjab chapter Vice-President Shaheen Anwar Gilani, filed a writ petition in the apex court alleging that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N)’s government in Punjab used state machinery in the by-polls to secure victory for its candidates.
Gilani said that the leaders and workers of PML-N violated the code of conduct set by the election commission and freely exhibited arms on the day of polling.
He further alleged that the Punjab government used the provincial police force as a militant force in the by-polls.
The petitioner prayed the court to take notice of the alleged illegality committed by the Punjab government and issue necessary directions to the election commission to ensure fairness in the upcoming general elections.

@shaami...Pakistan is for everyone...people from Karachi have as much right to talk about Punjab as Nawaz Sharif and Shabaz Sharif have about Karachi. By saying leave Punjab alone, you yourself are playing ethnic politics. Mind you there are many Punjabis living in Karachi without any problem. I dont think a karachitte can live in Punjab easily. I am a resident of lahore but i have a soft corner towards karachi. They were once very peaceful and very cultured until the economic migrants started coming from the north bringing along their tribal culture which has destroyed this great city. The peacefulness of Punjab is at the expense of resources of other provinces, Lets give back the resources to the smaller provinces and let them become as peaceful as us.
About time!
I don't remember MQM contesting any polls in Punjab.
Why are they so concernred about Punjab and least about Karachi!!!
All pro-army parties are gathering against PMLN while MQM is once again playing the establishment game. Who will ever forget the shamefully drawn constituencies by Mushi and Karachi massacre when the CJ landed. Some groups in Pakistan can be labeled secular Taliban.
It would be much better if MQM stay's focused on the mess created in Karachi, how do you even find time to raise such issues when this city is burning and people are being killed by the dozen
The ultimate test for chief justice. Can he ever go against PMLN ?
Gilani said that the leaders and workers of PML-N violated the code of conduct set by the election commission and freely exhibited arms on the day of polling.
ahaha, they should be the last people to complain about this.
Did Altaf Bhai see a dream or did Dr. Qadri tell him about the rigging? What kept MQM so long? They woke up late to challange the delimitation in Karachi. Is it reluctance or laziness? Dr. Qadri has something to do with it. Dr. Qadri has appeared on the pre-election scene like the villain in Pakistani movies, 'ye shaadi nahin hogi!' Bang! Bang! Bang!
And the petition would never be called to hearing by Nawaz Courts!
