HANGU: District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed Ahmad suspended a traffic police official on Monday for his alleged involvement in corruption. In a statement issued by the DPO’s office, police in-charge Zafar Iqbal was suspended following frequent public complaints about him taking bribes. A committee of senior officials from his department found Iqbal guilty of the charges levelled against him. As a result, DPO Ahmad appointed a new traffic in-charge, Haleem Khan, and hoped Khan will live up to the people’s expectations by performing his duties honestly. “There is no place for dishonest policemen in our department and those found guilty will be dealt with strictly, in order to restore people’s confidence in us,” said Ahmad.
