Four counts of murder: Three convicts awarded 120 years imprisonment

Each issued fines worth Rs35,000.

Three men convicted of murdering four of a family during robbery were awarded jail sentence of 120 years and Rs35,000 fine by a local court here on Thursday.


According to an FIR lodged with the Khalabat Township police, Panji Khan, an Afghan refugee, maintained that his elder sister Aghal Jan, 42, lived with her husband, Muhammad Amin, and their two sons and daughter in a rented house in Sector 3 of Khalabat Township. On November 21, 2010 when Amin was in Afghanistan, unidentified men broke into their house and shot them all dead.

The men

Police arrested three suspects, Waqas, Amir and Hashim, who confessed during interrogation that they entered the house to rob the dwelling but when the residents identified them, they shot them all dead and decamped with cash and valuables.

The case was tried in court and the men were convicted by Additional Session Judge III Madad Ali Khan.
