Npc Elections: Journalist Panel wins polls

The Journalist Panel also won all 15 governing body slots.

The Journalist Panel retained control of the National Press Club’s (NPC) for the seventh time,  defeating the Jago Liberal Panel on Monday.


Farooq Faisal and Shahryar Khan were elected president and general secretary, respectively, while Afzal Javed was elected finance secretary.

The Journalist Panel also won all 15 governing body slots. For the three seats of vice-presidents, Asim Ali Rana, Abdur Razzaq Sial and Aijaz Ahmed Shah were declared successful. Ataullah Rajar, Nasir Mehmood and Sagheer Ahmed were elected on the three joint secretary posts.

The 15-member governing body will comprise of Asghar Chaudhry, Abdur Rasheed, Ahmed Rizwan, Khwaja Nayyar Iqbal, Asim Yasin, Mubarak Zaib, Azhar Abedi, Javed Idrees Qureshi, Bashir Usmani, Shahid Mehmood, Yasir Malik, Shameem Anwar, Shahid Sultan, Abrar Kanwal, and Shahnaz Tatari.
