LAHORE: More people have died in targeted killings in Karachi than in terrorist attacks in Pakistan, Jamaat-i-Islami’s (JI) Karachi Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said in a speech at the Lahore Bar Association on Tuesday. Mehanti blamed the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for the unrest in Karachi, saying that it controlled everything that went on in the city. The party manipulated the government with its repeated threats to resign. LBA President Chaudhry Zulfiqar addressed the gathering, saying that the Foreign Ministry should produce MQM chief Altaf Hussain before the SC to answer contempt of court charges.
