Polio eradication: Three-day drive begins in Hyderabad

A total of 717 mobile teams have been employed, while 90 fixed vaccination points have also been set up.

HYDERABAD: A three-day polio eradication campaign began across all four talukas of the city from Monday. Dr Muhammad Ashraf Memon, who is leading the drive, said that they hope to vaccinate 298,947 children under five years of age in Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural talukas. A total of 717 mobile teams have been employed, while 90 fixed vaccination points have also been set up. Medical officers and health department officials at 52 union councils will be overseeing the three-day drive, added Dr Memon.
