Balochistan unrest: Truck driver kidnapped from Bolan

QUETTA: A driver was kidnapped from the Bolan district on Sunday while a shutter-down strike was observed in Naushki against kidnappings for ransom.

According to Levies Force officials, unidentified men intercepted a truck and kidnapped a driver identified as Muhammad Khan. Soon after the incident the Levies Forces rushed to the area and commenced a search operation.

“The kidnapping seems to be for ransom,” said an official. However the kidnappers have not contacted anyone yet. Meanwhile, a complete shutter down strike was observed in Nushki area against the kidnapping of a student Riaz Ahmed Badini and the increasing incidents of kidnappings for ransom.

Badini was kidnapped from outside the University of Balochistan in Quetta. Business in the city came to a halt in the city while the relatives of the student staged protests at the Press Club.
