SUKKUR:

Ghotki police have recovered a senior official of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government who went missing three months ago.

K-P’s Additional Home Secretary Muhammad Ramzan had got in touch with an anonymous female caller who, after a few months of contacts, invited him to Ubauro city, in Ghotki district, according to sources.

As soon as Ramzan reached Ubauro, he was bundled into a vehicle by unknown men and shifted to Mir Kosh area on the outskirts of Ubauro city. On Sunday, police raided a location in Mir Kosh area and recovered Ramzan.

Senior police officer from Ghotki said the kidnappers had fled before the raid and that police had made no arrests. He refused to give further details.

According to police, several gangs of kidnappers belonging to Shar and Kosh clans regularly use women to entice potential targets through telephone calls and then kidnap them for ransom.
