Better protection: City to get three new fire stations

The new stations will be built in New Karachi, Korangi and Ibrahim Haidri areas.

KARACHI: Three new fire stations are being constructed in the city, said Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed while speaking at the 3rd Fire and Safety Convention on Thursday.

The new stations will be built in New Karachi, Korangi and Ibrahim Haidri areas. Syed said that the government was paying attention to fire safety after the Baldia Town factory tragedy, in which more than 250 people lost their lives.

The city has 32 fire fighting vehicles. Six new fire tenders will also be brought to the city.
