KARACHI: The Supreme Court registrar Dr Faqir Hussain’s refusal to appear before the National Assembly’s public accounts committee (PAC) to explain the expenditures incurred by the apex court is an insult to the parliament and the masses, claimed Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Friday.

He added that apex court’s registrar is a public servant, and that “[his] refusal to appear before the PAC shows that something is wrong”.  Every government department is answerable to the public watchdog. “The Supreme Court is answerable to the people. Are the people who talk about the rule of law above the law?” Memon asked.
