A non-bailable warrant was issued for Sajjad Khatri when he failed to appear in court on Friday.
This was his third consecutive absence at a court hearing after being granted bail by the Sindh High Court. His bail application had been rejected in September by the Anti-Terrorism Court III.
Additionally, the Anti-Terrorism Court III has also issued notices to those who provided surety for his bail. Khatri, an alleged member of the banned Peoples Amn Committee, is required to appear in court on December 22.
Khatri is accused of rioting with armed weapons, unlawful assembly, using criminal force to prevent public servants from doing their duty, attempted murder, ‘mischief by fire or explosive substance’, causing mischief and common intent and under section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act. Uzair Baloch, Zafar Baloch, Habib Jan Baloch, Sheeraz alias Comrade and Rashid Bengali are among the others accused in the case.
