Champions Trophy: Pakistan beat India to bronze
This is Pakistan's first medal in the championship after 2004.
A few minutes into the match, India scored the first goal and took the lead over Pakistan.
Pakistan's Muhammad Rizwan scored the equalizer. Shafqat Rasool scored the second goal for Pakistan and Ateeq took the penalty hit, scoring Pakistan its third.
India got a penalty corner too, scoring a second for themselves but could not get an equalizer in.
Earlier, Pakistan were outclassed 5-2 by the Netherlands in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy.
Pakistan’s loss had sealed a bronze-medal playoff against India.
The third-ranked Dutch will play defending champions Australia in the final today, after the home side comfortably defeated India 3-0.

@vikas Such comments are very immature. What about the cricket then ? There you have almost all states what is the result there. Lets not hide something in carpet. The fact is that we have not been doing well in cricket/hocket/football/tennis. When I say this, do not compare this with Pakistan please !! Lets compare our efforts with sporting nations like Australia.
We have been doing very well in Badminton/Golf/Snooker internationally thanks to some great champs that we have. In hockey we would need find players like Major Dhyan chand again to lift our level.

Well done guys. Hockey is the toughest game. Its action is much better than to any hollywood movie.I love to see these guys win , Hockey has given me everything, most importantly it brought me to Swift Current, where I met my wife Katee She is big fan of Hockey. She saw me first time in action at Hockey Ground in England. Long live Hockey in Pakistan!!
There is not much to cheer. 3rd position sounds more like 3rd class. Unfortunately Asian hockey is lagging behind Europeans and now even Aus-NZ. Aus-NZ were not recognised first class teams decade or two earlier but now when there is a Pak-AUS match, I already know the result.

Bad day for India because England defeated India in 3rd test by 7 wickets and won the 4 matches series by 2-1 and Pakistan defeated India in FIH men's hockey match by 3-2 and obtained 3rd position and Bronze medal.....
