Champions Trophy: Pakistan beat India to bronze

Pakistan wins 3-2; scores first medal since 2004.

MELBOURNE: Pakistan beat India 3-2 in the Field Hockey Champions Trophy and won bronze, finishing third place in the championship, Express News reported on Sunday.

This is Pakistan's first medal in the championship after 2004.

A few minutes into the match, India scored the first goal and took the lead over Pakistan.

Pakistan's Muhammad Rizwan scored the equalizer. Shafqat Rasool scored the second goal for Pakistan and Ateeq took the penalty hit, scoring Pakistan its third.

India got a penalty corner too, scoring a second for themselves but could not get an equalizer in.

Earlier, Pakistan were outclassed 5-2 by the Netherlands in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy.

Pakistan’s loss had sealed a bronze-medal playoff against India.

The third-ranked Dutch will play defending champions Australia in the final today, after the home side comfortably defeated India 3-0.

we shud also keep in mind the glory the sportsmen bring to their country …… do you at your job do the same for Pak …… if not, then it might be worse than even 3rd class comparatively ……. my apologies in advance for being emo about it but dude get a life ……. u don’t use such words for someone’s achievement …….
