Educational activities: IJT organises ‘mega student festival’
A three-day ‘mega student festival’ started at Shahi Bagh on Tuesday.
PESHAWAR:
A three-day ‘mega student festival’ started at Shahi Bagh on Tuesday. Atomic scientist and chief of Tehreek-e Tahafuz Pakistan party Dr Abdul Qadir Khan inaugurated the festival while former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Qazi Husain Ahmad addressed the participants. Students from different educational institutions across the province were brought in IJT vans to the venue. The first day activities included a writing test competition in which 800 students participated. Some 45 book stalls, mostly of religious literature, were also displayed to encourage reading. Food stalls will be displayed on the second day of the event. Organiser Muhammad Noman said that the purpose of the event was to make students take part in healthy activities.
