Anti-Polio campaign: Eight health officials suspended

620 teams of health officials were formed to administer polio drops to 1,72,000 children, says EDO.

Eight health workers were suspended on Monday for remaining absent from duty duties during an anti-polio campaign.


Six lady health workers and two supervisors serving in Basic Health Unit (BHU) Mang, BHU Shah Muhammad and Tehsil Headquarter Hospital Khanpur were suspended and their salaries forfeited by the district health department.

Executive District Officer Health Haripur Dr Mazhar Shah confirmed the news, adding that for the campaign 620 teams of health officials were formed to administer polio drops to 1,72,000 children, including 22,000 Afghan children, across the district.
