ISLAMABAD:

Educational institutions working under Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) are implementing the idea of painting school and college buses yellow to make them more clearly visible and identifiable.

Talking to APP on Monday, FDE Spokesman Waqar Ashraf said the idea behind changing the colour of buses was safety, adding that the Ministry for Capital Administration and Development (CAD) had given the direction. Most developing and developed countries have adopted yellow as the colour for school buses in view of safety, and yellow is associated with school or college buses everywhere.

Ashraf informed that FDE institutes have 136 buses, 38 of which have been painted yellow.
