SHABQADAR:

Two suspected militants were killed while planting a home-made bomb near a paramilitary checkpoint in the Pandiali tehsil of Mohmand tribal region on Sunday.

“Paramilitary troops manning the checkpoint heard a loud explosion and rushed out – only to find severed legs of two men 500 metres away from their post in Karapa Chopan area,” a security official told The Express Tribune.

The legs were believed to be of suspected militants who were planting an improvised explosive device (IED) on the main Mohmand road to target paramilitary troops.

According to the official, paramilitary soldiers defused another IED near the site of the blast. An official of the political administration told The Express Tribune that they have detained two Afghan suspects for questioning.

Meanwhile, a policeman was wounded when a police mobile van hit a roadside bomb in Zarif Korona village of Shabqadar tehsil, Charsadda district. Following the attack, police mounted a manhunt for the suspected militants who planted the bomb, police official Gulshed Khan said.

Damn, how I hate this collateral damage ! After so much effort and money spent on training them, can't they be more careful ?
