Flower show ends: CDA wins contest

The show was organised by the CDA in collaboration with the Islamabad Horticulture Society.

ISLAMABAD: The gardeners at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) seem to know their stuff. After coming in second at the flower show organised at the arid varsity in Rawalpindi, the authority claimed the trophy at the show at Rose and Jasmine Garden in Islamabad. In the category of large organisations, CDA stood first, with the Pakistan Public Works Department coming in second.In the small organisation category, Allama Iqbal Open University came first and Civil Military Hospital came second. Addressing the concluding ceremony on Sunday, CDA Chairman Tahir Shahbaz said this year, the authority has expanded the show by adding several new varieties of flowers. Over 100 varieties of flowers were put up on display at the flower show. More than 20 government, semi-government, NGOs and private organisations and individuals participated in the flower show. The show was organised by the CDA in collaboration with the Islamabad Horticulture Society.
