Fatima Bhutto denies launching political career
Bhutto posted an update on her Twitter account saying:
Tribune story exists only in the galloping imagination of the author. It is obviously, wildly untrue.
Earlier, The Express Tribune had quoted her mother, Ghinwa Bhutto, as saying that Fatima has decided to put long standing speculations to rest and embark on a political career.The report quoted Ghinwa and reported: “Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) Chairperson Ghinwa Bhutto announced that Fatima – granddaughter of former premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and daughter of the late Murtaza Bhutto – will compete in the upcoming elections from Liaquatpur town of Liaqatpur tehsil in Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab for the NA-192 seat.”
Fatima, who has published a deeply controversial book on the life and times for her late father, has been a vocal critic of the current government run by her estranged relatives.
She has, for years, rubbished the chances of entering politics.

Why is she so apologetic. She has every right to contest an election like any democracy. Even if she said that she won't contest earlier. She just changed her mind. What's wrong in that.

lol, whats the confusion here. ghinwa bhutto did gave the above said statement vis vis fatima bhutto on her visit to bahawalpur a couple of days back.. ghinwa bhutto was quoted saying fatima will contest next elections . it was all over the local newspapers. also aks newspaper website run by ghinwa bhutto party had the same news item all over it . tribune has nothing 2 be ashamed of. fatima needs 2 clarify things with her mother before cursing the tribune news reporter.
