Road accident: Nine injured in collision

The driver of the passenger van, Amir Adnan, and passenger Amal Hussain were also injured.

HANGU: Nine people including five paramilitary officials were injured when their vehicle collided with a passenger van on Hangu-Kohat Road on Friday. The assistant political agent (APA) of Orakzai Agency, Rafiq Mohmand, said that the incident occurred around noon and the security vehicle was carrying prisoners being transferred from Kohat to Hangu and Orakzai headquarters. Levies personnel and a prisoner were injured and taken to the hospital following the incident. The police also rushed to the site soon after. The injured included an official Jehanzeb, Constables Zahir Ali, Shadi Khan, Younas, Arif Shah along with the prisoner Matiullah and an election commission official Nasrullah. The driver of the passenger van, Amir Adnan, and passenger Amal Hussain were also injured. Both vehicles have been impounded and Hangu police has started investigation, the APA said.
