IED blasts: Three killed, six injured in separate explosions

A similar incident occurred in Matta Mughal Khel area of Shabqadar, says a local police official.

Three separate improvised explosive device (IED) blasts killed three civilians and injured six others, including a security official on Friday.


A security official told The Express Tribune that the bomb disposal squad of the Frontier Corps was on a routine search for explosives around 8:30am, when the blast occurred in Lower Chamarkand area of Safi tehsil of Mohmand Agency.

As a result, two brothers, Rehmat and Ramdad, were killed on the spot while an official of the Mohmand Rifle Taj Muhammad and another civilian were injured, said the official. The injured were rushed to the agency headquarters hospital.

He further said that the area is close to the Pak-Afghan border where the forces conduct a search regularly to detect explosives.

Meanwhile, a local police official Wilayat Khan said that a similar incident occurred in Matta Mughal Khel area of Shabqadar, killing a rickshaw driver Zulfiqar Umer.

Similarly, an official of the political administration Bajaur Agency told The Express Tribune that three civilians were injured when they were on the way to Kamangar area of Nawagai tehsil in the agency.
