Attesting fake CNIC: Former school head arrested

The identity card was found to be forged after Ahmed used it to fraudulently sell a residential plot.

MIRPUR: A retired headmaster of a government high school was arrested on Wednesday on charges of attesting a fake Computerised National Identify Card (CNIC), according to a statement issued by the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Accountability Bureau. The bureau stated that Sheikh Noor Ahmed, the former headmaster of Government Chaudhry Altaf Hussain High School in Civil Lines, Jhelum was arrested after he was found to have attested a fake CNIC of Habib Ahmed, a resident of Machine Mohalla of Jhelum, during his service in 2004. The identity card was found to be forged after Ahmed used it to fraudulently sell a residential plot, measuring one kanal, at Sector D/4 of Chamanzar, Mirpur. Further investigations are underway, the statement added.
