Asif maintains unbeaten run

Pakistan number one Mohammad Asif thrashed his Israeli opponent Shachar Ruberg 4-1 to maintain his unbeaten run in the IBSF World Snooker Championship being played in Bulgaria.


The one-sided victory also gave Asif top position in group H as he heads into the knockout stage high on confidence. Meanwhile, compatriot Asjad Iqbal has won all his matches too and was scheduled to play his last round match late last night.

Asif raced to a 2-0 lead in the match before the 18-year-old Israeli made a strong comeback by winning the third frame. However, Asif successfully potted and eventually went onto win the match 80-26, 81-6, 34-75, 71-58 and 57-37.
