PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday gave a private school 10-day notice to comply with its sibling policy. The City School, among many others, had applied for a concession from the policy. The directions were issued by a PHC division bench comprising Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth while hearing a writ petition filed by Gohar Rehman against the school. Rehman stated that his grandchildren were not given the fee discount. As per sibling policy, every school must grant 50% fee concession to a student’s siblings studying in the same school. Counsel for the school informed the bench that they have agreed to provide fee concession to Rehman’s family, but CJ Khan expressed concerns over the attitude of the school’s management. He said that if court orders are not followed regarding the policy, the court will be compelled to issue an order and shut down all private educational institutions.
