Move against corruption: ACE registers seven cases

Cases against 3 police inspectors, union council secretary, patwari, peon, 2 nikah registrars, medical officer.

SIALKOT: The Anti-Corruption Establishment has registered seven cases against 11 people including three police inspectors, a union council secretary, a patwari, a peon, two nikah registrars and a medical officer of the Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital (GAIMH). ACE Deputy Director Maqsood Lone said ASI Usman Khan of the Pasroor police station had allegedly received Rs21,500 bribe from Bhulair’s Khadim Hussain on behalf of the station house officer. He said GAIMH Medical Officer Dr Mohammad Naveed was accused of having issued a bogus medical certificate to Mohammad Rafique and Mohammad Adeel of Chak Sahu. He said ASI Ahsanullah of the Baigwala police station had allegedly received Rs10,000 from Jamshed Alam of Coopra Klan to dismiss a case against him. ASI Khizar Hayat of the Daska police station had kept Kanwalt village’s Muhammad Waris and his brother in illegal confinement for six days and extorted Rs15,000 from him. A case was registered against nikah registrars Qaisar Ali and Hafiz Shakir and Pindi Arainan union council secretary Malik Naseeruddin for allegedly preparing a bogus marriage deed in connivance with Sughran Bibi and Tufail.
