HYDERABAD: Members of the Awami Tehreek (AT) organised protests in several districts to condemn the kidnapping of a party worker, Hyder Jarawar, from Mirpurkhas district. According to the party’s general secretary, Anwar Soomro, policemen dressed in civilian attire took Jarawar hostage from Jhudo. Officials of the Jhudo police station have denied any involvement in the incident and senior officials have not shown any interest in the case. However, the residents claim to have seen a sub-inspector of the police station, Wajid Rajput, kidnapping Jarawar. The party announced a shutter-down strike in Mirpurkhas on November 23.
