LAHORE: The city government has installed 116 closed-circuit television cameras at sites along the route of Muharram 10 processions that start at Nisar Haveli and Islampura, said District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal on Thursday. A special control room has been set up at the DCO’s office where footage from 36 cameras along the Islampura procession route and 80 cameras along the Nisar Haveli procession route will be monitored. Officials of the Water and Sanitation Agency, the town municipal administrations, Rescue 1122, police and traffic police will man the control room, the DCO said in a briefing to Khawaja Shumail, member of the Board of Revenue.
