KARACHI: Pakistan’s snooker team will leave for Bulgaria tomorrow to take part in the IBSF World Championship which starts on November 24.

The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) had to make hasty financial arrangements to send Muhammad Asif and Asjad Iqbal to the mega event after the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) refused to release a special grant of Rs700,000.

“The IPC officials didn’t meet us and that was really disappointing,” PBSA President Alamgir Sheikh told The Express Tribune. “Currently, we’ve arranged finances on our own but will definitely send the bills to IPC after the event and hope they’ll reimburse it.”

Meanwhile, Asif sounded optimistic about his chances in the event.

“Everyone aims to win the title but realistically speaking quarter-finals and semi-finals are certainly in our sights,” said Asif.
