ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said on Tuesday that Pakistan looked forward to Japan’s long-term engagement in the development of its agro-industry through cooperation in land development, high quality seeds, crop farming, cultivation and the dairy and fisheries sectors. The president was talking to Hiroshi Oe, ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, who had called on him here at the Aiwane Sadr. The president said that Pakistan was keen to increase its exports of agricultural produce, textiles, surgical instruments and leather products to Japan with enhanced market access. “We look forward to Japan providing greater market access for Pakistani products, along the lines of the European Union,” he said.
