Free-will marriage: Man burnt by in-laws dies in hospital
"Shehr Sultan’s Mohammad Majid and Samina Bibi had married in Karachi three months ago," says police.
MUZAFFARGARH:
A man, who had been burnt by his in-laws over his marriage without their consent, died in Nishtar Hospital on Tuesday. Police said Shehr Sultan’s Mohammad Majid and Samina Bibi had married in Karachi three months ago. The family of Samina Bibi filed a kidnap case against Majid, his father Bashir and brother Javed. Police said Bashir and Javed had been arrested while the couple hid in Muzaffargarh. However, police said Samina Bibi’s brother Abdul Sattar located the couple. Some of her relatives then entered the house at night, threw kerosene oil on Majid and burnt him. Majid died in the hospital on Tuesday.
