KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Prisons Manzoor Wasan admitted to media personnel on Monday that the number of inmates in the province far exceeded the space available for them. He added that nearly 70 prisoners were released in the province between 2003 and 2005, while cases of another 27 inmates had been disposed of. Wasan also claimed that court proceedings against dangerous inmates would be held inside the prisons. When asked about alleged misappropriation in purchasing of CCTV cameras for jails, Wasan said that he had ordered an inquiry into the matter.
