Citizen’s complaint: LHC orders case against govt officials

Petitioner says that the the respondents had abused their powers and demolished his property worth Rs50 million.

FAISALABAD: Lahore High Court Justice Abdur Rahman Lodhi has ordered a case against a former Faisalabad district coordination officer, assistant commissioner, City, and town municipal authority staff for demolishing the property of a citizen allegedly without issuing him a notice.

Abdul Hafeez, a resident of New Truck Stand, Jhang Road, had filed a petition contending that DCO Naseem Sadiq, City AC Zaheer Ahmad Jappa and Jinnah Town TMA’s Ghulam Rasool demolished his godown and shops at Chak 220-RB, Jhang Road, without issuing any notice for widening the road. He said the respondents had abused their powers and demolished his property worth Rs50 million.

The judge directed the city police officer, Faisalabad, to submit a copy of the FIR up to November 27.
