LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Punjab government, without depending on the federal government, is endeavouring to achieve self-sufficiency in the energy sector through its own resources and is also working on energy generating projects through alternate sources. Elaborating on ties between Pakistan and India, he said that wars brought no gain and peace was the only option. Both countries will have to march forward by taking concrete steps for eliminating poverty, unemployment and starvation and bring a positive change in the region’s situation by promoting economic and cultural relations. He expressed these views while talking to a representative delegation of the British High Commission during a meeting at Model Town on Saturday. Matters of bilateral relations and mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
