Fraud case: SSP told to start inquiry against DSP, two others

GUJRANWALA:

A sessions judge on Thursday directed the senior superintendent of police (Investigation) to inquire into the alleged kidnapping of a man.

The petitioner told the court that his kidnappers had forced him to transfer his property in their name.  The judge also directed the SSP to file a report by November 19, the next date of hearing.

Police said the petitioner, Mushtaq Ahmed, filed a complained against Satellite Town Deputy Superintendent of Police Azam Mazhar and two men, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Muhammad Amir, residents of Wapda Town. Ahmed and Amir, he says, are the nephews of Inspector General of Police Haji Habibur Rehman.

The petitioner said the respondents had locked him in a room at a CNG station with the help of four men. He said they had then taken his thumb impression on a stamp paper, which said that he (Mushtaq) had received Rs30 million from Ahmed and Amir in exchange for 43 kanals of land.

He said they then took him to Satellite Town police station, where the DSP put him in lockup. He said the DSP had called his uncle, Muhammad Boota, and obtained two cheques worth Rs3.6 million each from him.

The petitioner said he was kept at the police station for the night, where he was abused and harassed by the police. He was released the next day, he said.
