Pensions: EOBI encourages workforce to register

The minimum pension had been raised from Rs1,500 to Rs3,600 per month.

KARACHI: Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) Chairman Zafar Iqbal Gondal requested the working community to register themselves in EOBI for securing their future.

Gondal said that EOBI provides old age, survivors and invalidity pensions to registered workers and benefits of workers welfare fund (WWF) to the employees/employers registered with EOBI.

EOBI had also opened its registration for self-employed, home-based workers and common people who were not associated with any employer, but wanted to get registered on their own.

The minimum pension had been raised from Rs1,500 to Rs3,600 per month, he added. Speaking at the occasion, Director-General of Operations Javed Iqbal said that “EOBI has adopted the Easy Paisa service to facilitate pension payments to senior citizens, disabled people and widows.
