EMA Round up: Hits and misses!

While some artists and fashionistas stood out on the EMA red carpet, others turned up wearing uninspiring outfits.

The red carpet of the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) saw some uninspiring outfits, with only a few fashionistas looking elegant. Here are some of the best and worst dressed stars of the music industry:

Taylor Swift

Country singer Taylor Swift looked angelic in this white and silver, shimmering J Mendel gown with see-through sheer panels on the sides. While we can’t give her any points for creativity with colour (does she wear anything but white?), she does look beautiful. Her nude lip shade made her overall appearance a little bland, but the perfect dark eyes saved her and got her an 8/10 on our style-o-meter.

CarlyRae Jepsen

The Canadian singer and songwriter sizzled on the red carpet in a strapless, silvery gold, metallic floor length dress. The Russian Red lips, matching red nails and ebony hair brought out a grown-up, sexy Carly.

Romina Becks

TV anchor Romina Becks looked ravishing in a gold, metallic, shimmery mini dress with a black blazer to jazz up the outfit. Becks paired her outfit with a matching clutch and golden sandals. Way to go!

Lana Del Rey

The American singer donned a plain navy blue dress at the event. The colour went really well with her complexion and black tresses. With minimal make-up and jewellery, her simplicity earned her full marks on our style-o-meter.

Isabeli Fontana

What was this Brazilian model thinking, when she went for a cow boyish guise. The skin-tight, studded jumpsuit was an uncanny option for an event like EMA. Girl, it was an awards night not a day out in Texas.

Kim Kardashian

The socialite endorsed a Stephane Rolland mullet dress. Though her black sandals were gorgeous, when paired with this hideous dress, they lost their charm. Two thumbs down!

Alicia Keys

American singer-actor Alicia Keys showed up in a green and black Stella McCartney illusion dress with see-through sheer panels. Despite her new bob and red lip shade that did add colour to her otherwise blah outfit, the starlet did not manage to attract attention.

Lena Meyer-Rutland

German singer-songwriter Lena Meyer-Rutland wore a pastel pink and grey chiffon dress, which would have looked cute but was not right for award night. The messy hair-do worsened things and the neutral make-up ensured that she is nowhere on our style-o-metre.
