The exhibition was sheduled to continue for three days, however, all the outfits sold out on the first day. The organiser said that only orders would be booked on the next two days. A percentage of the sales will be given as donation to aid flood victims.
The fabric used for most of the outfits was chiffon. The dresses had digital and screen prints on them while some used hand embroidery. The colour palette was maroon, red and coffee.
Fashion Pakistan Lounge manager Rima Farid observed that this Eid long flowing dresses were in demand. “In connection with this summer season, coffee is the colour in vogue and demand. Almost all the dresses sold out in just a few hours and tomorrow we are just taking orders. On the third day we will pack early,” she said.
Faird said that the response of the public had been excellent.
She said that it was a great effort on Shameel’s part that she had kept the prices low for this exhibition and would donate a percentage of the profit to flood victims through the Fashion Pakistan Donation Camp. The prices of the outfits ranged between Rs18,000 and Rs35,000.
