Killings and arrests: Operation in Bara continues
The head of Akka Khel militia, Gul Meran, claimed to have killed six militants in clashes in Akkakhel as the operation continued in areas of Bara sub-divison, Khyber Agency on Monday.
Official sources said that a mortar shell fired from an unidentified location fell at a house in the area, injuring four people. Their condition is said to be stable.
Meanwhile, 17 suspected militants were arrested during a search operation in the agency. Officials also claimed to have killed a militant commander, whose body was taken into custody. A large cache was arms were recovered during the operation in Shalobar, Malikdin Khel and Akka Khel areas.
