Contempt of court: Bilour’s hearing adjourned till Nov 17
The state was represented by public prosecutor Manzoor Alam.
PESHAWAR:
A Peshawar court adjourned contempt of court case hearing against Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) senior minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour till November 17. Bilour had issued funds to construct a government school over the property of a resident Saeed Ahmad in Qaidabad area. The construction was later declared illegal by the Peshawar High Court and the Supreme Court asked Bilour to give the land back to Ahmad. Despite court orders, the property was not given back to him. He then filed an application seeking action against the provincial minister. During the case hearing held before the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Inamullah Wazir, on Saturday, the court was informed that Ahmad could not retain his land as the minister has been influencing the issue. Advocates Muhammad Ayaz and Salihuddin, representing the minister, filed an application requesting Bilour’s exemption from the court during the hearing. The state was represented by public prosecutor Manzoor Alam.
