KARACHI:

The Crime Investigation Department arrested four members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from Manghopir on Tuesday. Officials from the department said that the arrests were made after a brief encounter in Sultanabad. The names of the suspects are Hameedullah, Ameerullah, Iranullah and Yasin.

Two hand grenades and four TT pistols were seized. SSP Chaudhary Aslam Khan told The Express Tribune that they could possibly be involved in two attacks in Manghopir last week; one on a bus carrying the workers of a ceramic factory and the other on police personnel. Another raid was conducted in Ferozabad in which a man demanding money from his employer, while pretending to be a member of the TTP, was arrested.
