MULTAN:

A newborn was found outside a hospital in Khanewal on Tuesday. Doctors said the baby was not more than a day old.

Police said Dr Sumera Naveed, a gynaecologist at the district headquarters hospital, found a baby boy wrapped in a cloth in front of the labour room when she arrived at work on Tuesday morning.

She told police that the baby was covered in garbage and was crying. She speculated that it had been abandoned in a garbage heap and someone had later brought it to the hospital.

She said the baby was healthy.

Medical Superintendent Dr MA Rehman told The Express Tribune that the police were reported who made announcements in the area about the baby. He said he informed the media in hope that the boy’s parents would come forward.

He said the hospital administration had been told to collect data of all the women who had delivered a baby at the hospital in the last two days.

He said several couples had contacted the hospital seeking to adopt the baby.

“We clarified to them that any such decision will only be taken after the completion of legal formalities by police,” he said.

Just visit Edhi homes where there are tons of baby girls abandoned and if you have guts then kindly adopt some baby girl as well.
