Telephonic meeting: Zardari, Altaf discuss political stability

Zardari also has telephonic conversation with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, K-P chief minister, and deputy prime minister.

KARACHI: Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and President Asif Zardari discussed the overall political situation of the country, terrorism incidents, promotion of democracy and other important issues during a telephonic conversation on Sunday.

In a statement released by the MQM, Hussain and President Zardari deplored the bomb blasts in girls’ schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the explosion in the shrine of Kaka Sahib in Nowshera. They termed these activities as blatant acts of terrorism and called for joint efforts for eliminating extremism and terrorism from the country.

They also agreed that the MQM and the PPP would continue to work together for meeting challenges facing the country and said that both the parties would continue to play their due role for the progress and prosperity of the country

Zardari and Hussain agreed that PPP and MQM will jointly face the challenges confronting the country.

President Zardari wished Hussain, his daughter Afza Altaf, and other members of the family and office-bearers and workers of the MQM on Eidul Azha. Hussain in turn felicitated Eid greetings to the president, chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Zardari.

Talks to other leaders

President Asif Ali Zardari also made separate calls to Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman‚ Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti and Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Radio Pakistan reported.

The President‚ who is currently in Karachi greeted them on the occasion of Eidul Azha.

He also discussed with them issues related to political stability and democratic development in the country.

They discuss that almost every week and the more they discuss political stability the more unstable Karach gets and why is it such a deal them two calling each other they might have each other on speed dials
