Crime: Grocery shop robbed; three gamblers held

Robbers looted cash and groceries worth Rs200,000. The police registered separate cases.

RAWALPINDI: Three persons were arrested on gambling charges and a grocery shop was robbed in Gunjmandi area of Rawalpindi during the last 24 hours.

Acting on a tip-off, the police on Friday raided a gambling den in Kashmir Colony and arrested Saleem, Imran and Rashid on gambling charges. The police also seized stake money and valuables from their possession.

Muhammad Saleem lodged a complaint with the Gunjmandi police that two armed robbers had entered his shop and made him and his staff hostage. They looted cash and groceries worth Rs200,000. The police registered separate cases.
